Описание: A tale of ruthless rise of early industrialists at the turn of the century. It takes place in Lodz, the heart of textile industry at the time. Three school friends, a pole of a noble background, an assimilated Jew, and a German decide to build a textile factory. They exploit the wife of a Jewish merchant in love with the Pole. The affair is uncovered and their factory is burned down. They persevere but soon labor unrests begin.
